Where There's Change, There's Opportunity
With a new music director and a new mission, the Brevard Music Center will no longer be able to host the Brevard Conference on Music Entrepreneurship (BCOME) at their lovely campus in North Carolina, so there will be no BCOME conference held this summer. It has been a good three-year run at the BMC including our 2005 think tank, and we're grateful for the support they showed us. I want to personally thank John Candler, Bruce Murray and Gary Himes for their support.
Therefore, BCOME is looking for a new home! If you are interested in working with us to host BCOME at your school or music festival, please contact me at mdrapkin@bcome.org. We have startup funding, a national reputation and three years of effectively running events of the highest quality.
Pre-conference Seminar on Career Development and Entrepreneurship at the National Conference of the College Music Society, September 24, Atlanta, GA
I chair the Committee on Career Development and Entrepreneurship of the College Music Society, and we will be presenting a pre-conference seminar at the upcoming CMS National Conference. This will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 in Atlanta. Details can be found on the CMS Website.
While logistics prevent us from reorganizing BCOME in time for this summer, I strongly urge you to attend this seminar. It will also include
presentations by past BCOME speakers, and should be great!
